Just Another Dog Day for Gigi

Anyone that doesn't know what soap tastes like never washed a dog. ~ Franklin P. Jones

Gigi had a bath yesterday and yes, I tasted soap! Afterward, I took photos because I think that she's absolutely adorable when she's wet, although she treats me as if I've somehow betrayed her or hurt her feelings. She doesn't enjoy baths at all!  I thought that this particular photo was funny.

Have a nice week!

Καλή εβδομάδα!

  2. Good morning Liz!!!

It's both funny and heart wrenching to see her sit in the corner as she blinks, shivers and then turns away.

    Have a great day:)

  6. I love the picture -it's portrait material, for sure.

Geena's weeks (if not a month) overdue for a bath, but she stands there and shakes like I'm peeling her skin off. Plus, it's been pretty cold around here and I like to bathe her when it's warm. But since it's November, I'm either going to have to wait another 4 months (not!) or just do it, cold or not.

    Great pic!

  7. She is soooooooooooooo cute!!!
    ADORABLE!!!!

God, our dogs have always been so hard to bathe! It kind of brakes my heart too every time cause their eyes turn so huge and have this "have I been soooooooo bad, really?" look. But the cypriot summer is so hot, they change their mind. This summer, our Magnum, was begging for a bath, day after day. The only times, we did not taste soap!

  8. @ Ivy - Thank you!! She's definitely my cutie.

@ Gingeyginge- I can imagine that you get soaked when giving your dog a bath. We have a big dog too and he makes sure that I'm drenched at the end. German shepherds are gorgeous, I had one as a child.

@ Maria- I dreaded giving this bath, it was well overdue. I figure it's going to get colder soon and now would be better than later. I always wait too long!

@Syd-Thank you so much, I thought this pic was really special too. Oh little Geena, she's so sweet. I know how you feel, that's why I gave in and just bathed Gigi. I had to do it now. It was warm yesterday and she actually went on the balcony to dry in the sun, after the guilt trip.
How is Geena doing? It's really nice to hear from you. Have a nice night Syd :)

@thalassamov-Thank you! We think she's pretty cute too. She's very spoiled! Yes, it's uncanny how the dogs make you feel as though you are hurting them -especially since they always seem to enjoy being clean afterward. Our Tarzan likes water even less than Gigi and he really plays on my emotions, even in the summer when it's hot! I still taste soap with him and it's a lot! You're lucky that Magnum cooperates in the summer :)
    Have a great night!

  10. Cheryl, Happy Thanksgiving! Here in Sparti, it is a holiday, the patronal Feast of Agios Nikon, originally from Armenia, so while not Thanksgiving, at least there is a holiday mood. I have been getting up to see the sun rise, per your advice- I am almost to the point of going to liturgy at 6:00 AM. My whishes to your family, here & in US & PR. Are you having turkey, or waiting until Christmas?

  11. Maria, Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. It is probably nice that a local holiday coincides with Thanksgiving. It was a struggle putting the meal together between trips to the schools etc...

We did have turkey today, but only drumsticks! I procrastinated and couldn't find a whole fresh turkey. But they were delicious. I hope to post a little about our day later.

I'm glad that you're enjoying the sunrise-it's extra beautiful in Greece. Again, thank you for the well wishes & being so kind.

I hope that you enjoyed your day :)
